How to play

1. 1

   The game divides 4–12 players into two teams as evenly as possible: Wave and Spark. The 6 rounds give each team 3 trails.

   At the start of a trail, the app appoints a navigator for the active team; the role rotates through that team. Everyone else on the active team becomes a scout.

   Everyone sees a 4×4 board of 16 different words. Only the navigator sees the ordered 4-word trail on their own screen; opponents and spectators see only the public board.

   Before each next step, the navigator has 25 seconds to give exactly one new clue of 2–24 letters with no number. Repeated clues, board words or their direct forms or translations, spelling or position hints, and signals outside the game are forbidden.

   After the clue, scouts discuss the trail and have 30 seconds to choose one unrevealed word. Each scout may change their local mark before confirming; the first confirmation accepted by the server becomes the team choice.

6. 6

   The correct next word opens that step and earns every active-team member 100 points. The navigator then gives a fresh clue for the trail’s next word.

7. 7

   A wrong pick or timeout spends 1 of 2 detours, but never causes an instant loss or helps the opposing team. A detour-marked word remains available because it may be a later step; picking it wrongly again also spends a detour. The unfinished trail ends when both detours are gone.

8. 8

   Completing all 4 steps ends the trail and gives every active-team member another 200 bonus points. Every award is added to that player’s running room score; after round 6, tied leaders share the win.

9. 9

   The reveal lasts up to 15 seconds and the host may continue after 4; it shows the trail, steps, detours, and scoring. Server-held roles, timers, and accepted actions survive reconnects without awarding points twice.
